I have a lot of stuff on my Neat stuff. I had five years of my business files and taxes on there. Then one time I lost my hard drive on my computer and I had to get a new hard drive put it. A new hard drive was put in, but I never saved the files to the Neat Cloud like I do now. I thought what was saved on there when I saved it, was saved and I didn't do an offline back-up because I had no idea. That was my one little downfall. After going to a computer place and spending a couple of hundred dollars, I got all of my information back, but I could not open up that program.

Perhaps we can get the Evernote company rep, who responded prior, to see if they can leverage their connection with the Neat company to raise the issue so that they take it more seriously. This doesn't seem to be an Evernote problem but I imagine Neat is a key partner so it would be in their interest to not lose those users. Sorry to chime in again, but this being a user forum you tend to get other users (like me) commenting on posts - usually in a constructive way, whether or not that's actually appreciated at the time. Why would Neat listen to Evernote - what is EN going to do, block their database access somehow? And why would Evernote take up the case of (all due respect) less than a dozen of its 200M users against a third-party company with whom it (AFAIK) has no relationship at all? I've been wrong before, and it's quite possible that Evernote will chime in and tell you that I'm wrong again; but if you want to put energy into campaigning for something I really suggest you do it on Neat's websites rather than here.

It seems like you (Evernote the company) would have carry a lot more weight in reaching out to Neat support to have them take this problem more seriously, instead of having us as individuals brushed off by them. But now this year I can no longer even get to the copies of my receipts that I scanned over the years unless I paid the yearly fee just to speak to someone on the phone. They take no calls otherwise. Still can't get it to work but I do have access to my scanned documents. Unless someone knows a better way I'm going to have to go back all those years and one by one download each document onto my hard drive. Now, they have discontinued support for their desktop software and now are requiring a subscription to their service to continue to use the hardware.
