Sunn Amp Serial Number Lookup
The design was Custom Shop, the production was ALWAYS considered regular production line though. Interestingly enough, Fender didn't even really have a designated amp Custom Shop at the time, that's why they used the old Sunn facility to start building amps again after the company was purchsed from CBS by Bill Schultz and a group of long time Fender employees. The Custom Vibrolux Reverb 2 x 10 amp (still made today) was another confusing amp as everybody thought it was a 'Custom Shop' amp as well due to the word 'Custom' in it's title. This was another Bruce Zinky design that came out of the Fender Custom Shop (simply because that's where Bruce Zinky worked at the time) but was always a regular production line amp. Fender seems to do this from time to time with many of their products. Cubase 5 project files download. The Baja Tele's and Strat's were another example. Custom Shop Design.
The SUNN T50C and reissue Model T amps are close cousins but share nothing in common with old original SUNN's. This is not to say that the Fender/SUNN amps were not decent amps. The T50C and Model T were not bad and provided a good clean sound as they should (it is a Fender amp) and a decent drive sound.

Unfortunately, there is some sad news to report as well. Fellow Fender amp researcher, Greg Huntington, passed away June 5, 2007 after losing his battle with cancer. Greg kept his illness very private, even from this author. His passing is a great loss to this research team and the Fender amp aficionado community in general. Greg was passionate about Fender amps and his knowledge, insight and humor will be missed very much.
As a result, there are a lot of amps out there that may look original, but are not. Yes, just as with vintage Fender guitars that get the “partocaster” treatment, Fender amps are suffering the same fate. There are some bad guys out there selling Fender amps of dubious origins, so it’s important to get this info into the public domain. Some things are very obvious such as non-original or reconed speakers, non-original transformers, replaced pots, re-tweed, re-tolex, re-grill, etc. And these changes are often disclosed and of a non-malicious nature. But other changes may be meant to deceive. Other things to look for include chasses placed in cabinets from a different year, “doctored” tube charts, non-original control plates (usually reproductions) on silverface amps, original transformer bell ends (they have correct date codes, of course) on non-original transformers, and non-original knobs (either repro or silverface knobs on blackface amps).

Adam, I found this. All Fender amplifiers, manufactured after 1989 include a date code on the amplifier. The orange box xbox 360 iso torrent. This code is located on the 'QA' (Quality Assurance) sticker, which may be found on the back of the amp chassis. The last line will have 2 letters of the alphabet either printed or written by hand.

The first Prosonic amps were produced at the old Sunn Amp manufacturing facilities in Lake Oswega, Oregan, (after Fender purchased Sunn), thus the reason the serial numbers start with LO. The first Prosonics were made in 1996.
For you SUNN fans who are interested in the amps pictured starting from the far left the little stack is a Solarus with the stock matching 2X12 cab. This is probably the most dead mint SUNN I have and I even have the original vinyl covers for it. The second amp is probably the most famous and well known which is a 200S. The third stack is a fairly rare 6X10 cab and the amp directly on top of it is also a fairly rare piece which is the four channel Studio PA head and the top amp is the only non-original amp I own. It started as a Spectrum One with with missing tranny’s that I bought for 30.00 and a local friend, musician and amp maker 'Rooster Ross' went thru it, added a push pull master volume and total custom wiring job.
I gave it a cleaning and tune-up not long ago. Great sounding amp. Contributing Member **** Pitt Meadows, BC Dumble is King Apr 21st, 2012 09:44 AM I've always liked the Prosonic Amps as well. Lot's of options that yielded some GREAT tones once one spent some time with the amp.:) / / Reply to this Topic Display my email address Your Message: Link Address (URL): Link Title: Moderators: FDP, LLC Privacy Policy: Your real name, username, and email are held in confidence and not disclosed to any third parties, sold, or used for anything other than FDP Forum registration unless you specifically authorize disclosure. In addition to A23373, it appears the stamping machine stuck on serial number A23378 as four distinct amps with this number has been reported. Could it be the machine also got stuck on A23374, -75, -76, and -77? These have not been observed or reported so the answer remains unknown.
