Just have the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition for the PC and was stuck in the game menus because i don't seem to find a key on my keyboard to press start. I tried ESC, space and enter but none work. Any idea how to fix it or i got the keys wrong? I don't wish to buy a controller for that, so yeah i. I did think that getting it to start up for the first time was somewhat of a pain, because after the download and install, I also needed to make a Live account with windows (and take a long time figuring out a usable name). Saving is somewhat weird as well, but I don't mind too much, as I enjoy the general experience. I would also like to mention that I had played the original version of Street Fighter 4 on my now broken ps3, and have noticed that Seth is a lot easier to defeat because he was balanced out. I would recommend if you have a gamepad, because using a keyboard for it is impossible. I used to play this online @ my friends house on ps3 and I hardly ever lost a game until I started playing on pc, seems like pc has a lot more elite players which was a big surprise to me since I know most pc gamers are not so much into fighting games.I tried purchasing this game off steam but they said that my country wasn't supported so I had to purchase the disc off amazon.
Well I got tired of waiting for capcom to fix this so I downloaded a 'fixed' version. Before I get to busy this week I thought I would give my first impressions. The Good: More characters. More characters are almost always a good thing and seeing as how the pc version of regular ssfiv was never released this is a needed update. No more annoying xbox live prompt.
Those buttons work as intended once I'm actually at the character select screen, but not in the actual menus, and it's really frustrating. Now I have it set up so holding P1 and pressing left on the joystick reads as Enter from within WinIPAC, but that's hardly ideal and definitely not user friendly if anyone other than I wants to use it. I've tried using xinput to make it read the keyboard functions as gamepad inputs, but that doesn't seem to work anymore (I believe it worked pre-patch). Anyone got any ideas??
Which in turn is a huge pain in the ass! Every time you play the game on your PC you have to log in and download the 'update' and that can take a few minutes depending on your internet speed. If your good with the inconvenience then purchase the game. In my opinion they really need to specify that this is a Xbox download not just a PC download. It was on sale, and I needed something to satisfy my retro-gaming craving. This was the solution. I also bought a Qanba Q1 (PS3/PC) fight stick with the game and everything is great.

The cause: I have disabled Windows autoupdate, which the Windows Live update requires enabled in SSFIVAE. So the patch won't apply.

How does it run on your original install machine? Do you see the same type of performance delta on that machine? Seems everyone else is seeing the opposite effect. I'm still trying to figure out what type of hardware I need for 60Hz SF4.
Change frame rate options [ citation needed] The game runs best when you use the 'Fixed' frame rate option under 'Graphics Settings' and disable VSync. This also fixes some potential online desynchronization issues. Using the 'Smooth' frame rate option can lead to malfunctioning attacks. The game was designed to be ran at a constant 60fps so anything other than a fixed frame rate can cause issues. If you experience tearing, you can enable VSync either through the game or your graphics driver software, but this adds a minor delay in input, though it's not noticeable to most players.
My machine isn't a Dell, but I have a standard Dell keyboard and I have a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2. Neither input works to start the game. Also even though input for the game doesn't work, I can still hit Home to bring up the Games for Windows Live overlay and I can also hit Shift+Tab to bring up Steam's overlay. It's very weird.
Pros:If you have a fairly good cpu and graphics card this game will look absolutely gorgeous and makes the console version look absolutely *weak in comparison. Cons: Time attack and survival modes seem to be missing in this version and have been replaced with barrel busting and car crushing modes which seem to be a bit limited game play wise, although still fun to play. This is a big minus for me although the game is still quite enjoyable. In addition to the new game modes they've added a bunch of new stages and more detailed character animations. I'll be spending the evening trying to unlock the extra character colors and taunts.
