Hi Everyone, I am new at this but thought I would post share some information on this carseat. I have 2 boys and expecting another in December. I brought the Edinburgh carseat from baby factory in 2012 when my youngest was old enough to sit in it. It was a good carseat up until I lifted the fabric off to clean underneath to find cracks in the plastic in three different places I had only had it for a year and a half. I took it to baby factory only to have them tell me it was my fault the cracks were there, lucky I had already arranged with head office to have it looked at otherwise it wouldn't of been taken. To cut a long story short the manufacturer have come back saying it is my fault it has the cracks in it.

I assured them it was always in the car and how could the damage have happened from inside the car with a 10 kg toddler sitting in it. They have not responded yet. I find it disturbing that this could happen to a carseat and what would happen if this was in an accident. It would be great to know if there are any other parents out there that have this carseat that are having the same problem or if you do I would recommend you look under the fabric to see if there are any cracks and let me know. Good Evening Instructions for replacing your fabrics are in your Maxi Cosi CabrioFix user manual. If you no longer have your user manual you can download another copy at and selecting the CabrioFix carseat. Above the product image you will see a tab to download a user manual. If you have removed the harness from the carseat completely this carseat needs to be sent to our engineers for them to re-thread the harness. Due to the safety implications of this being done incorrectly we cannot recommend that this is done by anyone else. The standard charge is £50 and this would include courier delivery service of the carseat back to your address. In addition you will need to make arrangements and cover costs for a courier delivery service of the carseat into our engineers.
Hi Beth - First open the footmuff, and set the carseat down on the floor in front of you so you're facing it. Take the harness pads and ****** pad off the harness straps and place the footmuff into the carseat. Pull the harness straps through the holes in the footmuff and press the back of the footmuff into the curve of the carseat.
Anchor bolts in your hire car are not required. The Edinburgh Roadstar is a great option if your hire car does not have anchor bolts or you are not sure?
